Re: Unplanned Exhaust Modification

I had to drive a friend home through a prissy part of town after
finishing a rebuild of his Dakota's 9.25" rear end fairly late at night,
and had another cop follow me for a couple miles as if he was trying to
decide if it was loud enough to pull me over for. So I finally decided
to stop stressing about it and just went to Meineke and had them fab me
a new tailpipe from the muffler back for 95 bucks.

It's not mandrel bent (I've asked, no one in Spokane, WA knows of ANYONE
with a pipe bender that can do mandrel bends over 2.25" diameter) but
it's not a horrible crimp-bent one either. It's about a stock
equivalent.

Once I get the divorce finished and move to a place with a garage I'll
see about a performance upgrade.

Thanks,

M.B.

I looked at them for the 98 years ago... looked a little on the junky
side to me.

If it were me, I'ld find a shop that had a mandrel bender and get the
pipes bent in stainless and then get a muffler (gibson or magnaflow).
Probably spend about the same as the Heartthrob, and have a better
setup.
