Case in point, I only spent 10,500 to purchase my '92 Dakota Sport, only options were V6 and split rear window. 265,000 proud miles later it has easily paid me to drive it!

it was over 20,000 to purchase my '01 club cab slt.

I saved 40% in '92 over the cost of a ram. Only 10% in '01. My fault for adding the comfort features I guess.

Still enjoy my '01 though it needs an exhaust manifold. 158,000+ miles :)

"While size and price were among the factors in the decision to end
production of the Dakota, a larger factor is the decline in sales of
compact pickups."

Umm...because compact pickups weren't compact anymore maybe?? People didn't want to pay as much for "compact" pickups when they could buy a "full size" for near the same price.

Reporters don't check facts anymore I guess. They just write what they're told to from the corporations.

If one of the manufacturers had seen the writing on the wall, a "real" compact truck with great gas mileage would have sold like crazy.
