My '96 SLT, Club Cab, 4x4, 5.2 L, 3.55 rear, 1800lb payload, with fiberglass
cap averages 16 - 17 miles/gallon mostly highway driving at 70+ mph. I have
put 3000 miles on the truck in a little over 1 month. This is mostly cold
weather driving with oxygenated fuel. I expect better mileage in warmer
weather.
