reusing auto trans oil in t/c

A few days back some one wrote that they reuse their auto tranny fluid
in their transfer case. I would not recommend reusing used oil in the
t-case. The chain in the transfer case requires very clean good
condition oil to live, this is especially true if you own a newer Dakota
with a live front axle (the chain is constantly turning). There are also
plastic washer on the planetary assembly which take large thrust loads
using low range which require good oil in order to live. For those of you
with live axle Dakotas who frequently drive above 80 mph I would
recommend changing your t-case oil frequently, and using synthetic oil,
due to heat generation from the chain.
