The 360 crate motor I think has switched over to the Magnum setup. This is
why the motor is now rated @ 380HP. If I recall correctly, a contact at
Mopar Performance stated this motor is essentially "off the normal assembly
line" but the cam is changed. Don't know specs on it.
Contacts at Chrysler AND suppliers show the 360 is being considered for the
AN truck for 1998. Several prototype Bills of Materials (such as fuel
systems and transmissions) show 360 specific parts.
Strong evidence but, this does not mean that Chrysler was not considering the
same for 1997.
