Robert,

Would you be interested in verifing the 4WD Magazine article regarding
automatic locking hubs?

If you jack one front wheel off the ground and spin it in the forward
direction the front drive shaft will not turn if it has auto locking hubs.
Friction may cause the front drive shaft to move but you should be hold it
stopped while the wheel turns.

Systems using the same concept as the free wheeling (coasting) in a bicyle
hub may not be obvious at fist glance.
