Here's the latest:
Replaced the speed sensor ($57), and was going to also replace the coolant
sensor, but unable to locate a dealer that had them in stock. Parts stores
didn't carry it either. So I cleared the trouble codes, and now only get the
12 & 55 as expected. However, truck is still doing the same thing, so it
appears the speed sensor isn't the problem, (wish I had thought to clear the
codes first, I probably could have saved the 57 bucks). The truck seems to
act up worst for the first five miles or so, and then gets a little better.
In light of this, should I still replace the coolant sensor just to be sure
(have to order it @ $33), or is that going to be a waste of time & $ ??

I have gotten some responses that suggest the distributor needs to be
"re-indexed". What does that mean, and how?? Other ideas??
