Unless you're getting oxygenated or reformulated gas that's pretty much
crap anyway, cold weather should reduce pinging. With the stock SBEC I've
never noticed any difference between any of the gas I've run in it and
never experienced any pinging.
Had a Mazda : ( with a Mitsubishi engine that started pinging because the
O2 sensor went bad, evidently stuck lean. Maybe it's your O2 sensor,
check for fault code 51.
