The 'no towing' spec is due to the fact that the computer's timing
setup was maximized in a 'no load' (towing) situation. If you were
place enough additional load you would get ping. You could probably
get around this with an adjustable timing retard like MSD makes.

I'm runnin' the Edelbrock/K&N setup and it kicks butt. Best $50
performance mod I ever made. Do it.

You didn't say what year your Dak was though. If it's pre-'97 and you
can fit a 14" go that route. You want to maximize the surface area of
     filter.

I got a stock replacement (same size) K&N filter for my V8 Dakota, and
I'm pretty happy with it. I noticed a little more power, but gas mileage
has gone *down*, which surprised me. It sure *sounds* like the engine
is breathing easier.

I would like to squeeze out as much power as possible, for towing, and
I've read here that the MP chip is not recommended for towing.
(Although I don't understand why.) Should I bother getting this
Edelbrock 10" setup everyone is talking about?
