I agree. I don't have a K&N to make such a judgement, but it does
sound as if your mechanic needs to go back to school. Now, I could
be wrong, but here's how I see this thing: If anything, a K&N would
be *less* effective in the south (higher temperature) than it would
be in a cooler climate. The hotter the air, the less oxygen molecules
you can cram into your engine. Maybe he meant that those in warmer
climates need the extra help of a K&N whereas those in the north don't?
From what I've read, a K&N will boost your performance in any
temperature. :)
