Hello everyone,
Name is Dave Deming out of Michigan. I joined the Dakota List last night
(Digest Version). Have been a member of the Neon List for over a year.
My wife and I each had a '95 Neon Sport Sedan. Excellent cars but I longed
for something a little bigger. Sold one Neon and have just aquired a Flame
Red '97 Dodge Dakota Sport Clubcab. Somewhat different than driving a
Neon. Love it so far. This is my 1st truck. Has a 5.2 Magnum, Automatic,
3.92 with most all the goodies. I have added a profile with all the
pertinent
information concerning my new Dakota.
I have two questions that someone on this list may be able to shed some
light on. First, I wanted to purchase the Mopar Performance Upgrade
Computer for the 5.2 Magnum. The Dealership tells me the computer won't
be available for 10 to 13 months for the 1997. That's a long time to wait.
Does anyone know of a aftermarket manufacturer that might have one sooner?
Second, Does any manufacturer currently make a Shift Kit for the 4-speed o/d
automatic? Any info regarding these two questions would be greatly
appreciated.
My new Dakota has 1700 miles showing and will be taking the 1st trip
outstate this weekend. It will be interesting to see what the mileage is.
I use Marathon Premium 92. Will have to adjust miles to compensate for
the larger tires.
By the way, many thanks to the person that listed the address and phone
number for Merchandising Incentives Corp in Troy, Michigan. That is about
10 minutes from me and I have been looking for a scale model of the new
Dakota.
