Go to your local parts house. Shell out the $20 or so for a
_mechanical_ oil pressure gauge. Disconnect your electrical oil
pressure sender and attach the mechanical feeder tube. Start
the truck and see what the mechanical gauge has to say.
If the mechanical gauge indicates good oil pressure, lucky
you. You've got a bad sensor, sensor wire, or gauge. Start
tracking it down. I'll bet it's the sensor or a loose wire.
If the mechanical gauge indicates the same questionable oil
pressure, you've got some fun ahead. Start thinking about dropping
the pan and checking the pump.
