I have a Micron compact CB in my '96 (all controls on the mic), and have the
adapter for the am/fm antenna. It will only broadcast about 1/8 of a mile,
and will only pick up very strong, close signals. I've talked with someone
that had a "cell-phone" type glass-mount antenna and he says it performs
pretty well - can transmit 1-2 miles and the receive is pretty good. Just
be sure to get a good brand - his was an Antron. I know that Midland also
makes these antennas.
