I had my Dak in for some warranty work. I posted earlier about the
rough idle, squeaky clutch and box. Well, I also needed an alignment,
the A/C was making some sort of clatter and the windshield sprayer was
shooting a straight stream onto the roof. Also, there seemed to be a
flaw in the paint on my hood.

The dealer I took it to - not the dealer I bought from (this one is
closer to my house) was very friendly and helpful. I told him about the
rough idle and he said it is probably something that has to do with
emissions and a lean mixture. I live in CA so there might have to be a
different emissions package. I know I paid extra money for "CA
emissions". Any way he also told me about the paint, "It looks like it
is in the clear coat. We would have to repaint the hood. I would not
recommend messing with the factory paint though". This flaw is not very
big, but it bugs me every time I wash or wax my truck. Is he just BSing
me about not messing with factory paint or should I just live with it.

So, I got my truck back this evening. The gentleman I saw when I
brought it in was gone for the day. I retrieved the paperwork from the
cashier and they got my truck. The paperwork (only 1 of 2 pages) listed
half the problems I had asked to be looked at and the remedy. The only
things that were listed as being checked were the alignment (truck now
does not pull to the right - fixed) and that the rough idle was "normal
conditions" I can live with that. Any way, clutch still squeaks, A/C
still rattles and the sprayer now sprays on window but not like a fan
spray. It is just this straight stream that does not cover the window
very well.

Sorry about the long post. Any way, what should I do about the paint
issue? Also, isn't it possible just to give me a new windshield
sprayer. And could that rattle in the A/C be a bad compressor? I am a
little concerned and don't want my A/C to cut out on one of sunny
California's 105 degree summer days. A/C still works fine... for now.
Thanks for all the insight you guys give me on my truck.
