} Last I talked to Gibson they claimed they couldn't do the NASCAR style for
} the Dak because the muffler sits so far back. Just cut off some pipe *I* say.
The muffler is back under the bed where there is enough height. The truck
is too low to put the muffler under the cab (if you care about ground
clearance). On the short beds or club cabs the back of the muffler is
behind the front of the rear tires. There is no way to bring the pipe out
the side in front of the back wheels. Perhaps on a long bed (I haven't
looked).
} But.....I got a catalog from Flowtech yesterday. You might have seen their
} Terminator "Bite Me" mufflers/ads. They've got a *ton* of '97 Dak stuff.
} I'll list the other years too.

} 92-95 - p/n 91940 standard and p/n 91940-1 for ceramic. 1 1/2" primaries,
} bolts to stock Y-pipe.
}
} 96-97 - p/n 91945 standard and p/n 94945-1 for ceramic. Ditto.
Given the skinny crimped stock Y-pipe these seem like a total waste. I'd
rather get an aftermarket Y-pipe for the stock manifolds.
Home brew Y-pipes are not smog legal in CA, and probably not anywhere
else. Any mods in front of the converter have to be EPA/CARB approved to
be legal.
