Don't put all that much effort in the rears. After all, the goal is to
build a stage up front. You wouldn't spend all that much money for concert
tickets BEHIND the stage, so why do so for rear speakers. Think of the as
'fill' speakers and limit the high frequency if possible. I have a simply
pair of Infinity Kappa 6.5" MIDs, with no tweeters. They run 120hz to 3.5K
hz. Just mid-range. I leave the tweeters up front to keep my stage ahead
of me, where it should be.

For the front speakers I choose a 5.25" separate set. I just so happen to
use Clarion Pro because of there wonderful 3/4" silk dome tweeters. But
there are many good brands out there, certainly less money than the $400
Clarion Pros.

Take the money and invest it in a very good pair of front speakers. Put
anything you can find in the rear for a good price. You'll be much
happier.

Nope, not yet. Kinda wanted to put 'em all in at once because of the
different ohm ratings. What are the TS 1602's? Are they 6-1/2's or the
6-1/2S style that's a direct fit? Mine are a few years old, TES-602's.
Same thing? Noticable improvement from the stock speakers?

I'm undecided on the rear. I'm leaning towards truck boxes with 8" subs
and 2x5 horns. Saw some MTX's that were about what I was willing to spend.
