Fwd: Re: Dakota puchase questions

Some years ago, Road & Track Magazine editorialized that the compact (mini)
pick up would be the sports car of the 80's. I wrote a zinger (unpublished)
that the ed. had to be an idiot to even think such a thing. Well folks, I
think I was maybe wrong! Seems a Dak with V8, handling package and so on
could very well take over that spot of "sports car"- and even be very
affordable. Compact/mini trucks have come a very long way! What does the
list think?

Following Rob's logic one could easily say that the Dakota is't a race car
either and if you want to race pick up Z-28 or a used Vette. I sure think
its possible to strike a good balance between your performance needs and
practicality. I'd bet most of us weighed these or similar questions when we
bought. By the way most of the numbers I've seen give the V-6 15-20%
better milage than the V-8 .Purely as mileage goes I'd consider that much
better.
