I'd venture to say that the 727 is as tough as anyones tranny. The 904
isn't bad either. Problem with the current version OD trannys is that
the OD has some problems with bearing failure that tends to destroy the
tranny. The FWD electronic controlled tranny has also had some
problems of which I am not familiar. I've got one in my wifes car that
has 110000 miles on it and "no problems" encountered. I do believe my
rigid schedule of changing filter/fluid every 30000 miles has to do
with the longevetity of my transmissions.

My wife has a 1993 Dodge Shadow that needed the tranny rebuilt at 45k
and she babys her low torque econo-box. The dealer mech said Dodge
can't build Transmissions.
