The gears are interchangable. the rear end is still and 8 1/4 inch ring
gear. You would need an installation kit which would costabout $100 if I
remember correctly. It cost me about $400 to get the 4.10's installed. If
you are interested I would gladly meet up with your friend to deliver the
goods. I also have a FIPK that I have sitting around if anyone is
interested.
