Hmmmm......I would buy a set of cheap steel wheels for your Dakota and put a
set of really aggressive tires on there. About a 225/70R15 and put chains on
them. This way, you save your really nice wheels and tires for cruising and
(talking about) racing. Personally, I run studded snow tires on the back of my
4X2 truck and have no problems. However, Indiana is just a wee bit cooler than
California and we get just a touch more ice and snow. :-) You may not be
allowed to run studs though. Indiana allows it from Nov. 1st to May 1st.
Although, I generally put them on in late November and they come off about mid
March.
