Scott,
Are you sure your not looking at the GAWR(Gross Axel Weight Rating).
Thats what mine is rated at for the GAWR. I have a 92 4x4 ClubCab 5.2L
Auto with 3.55 gears. Acording to the owners manual the GCRW (Gross
Combined Weight Rating) for my configuration is 9200 lbs. The GCWR is
what you use to determine what your truck can tow,it includes truck,
trailer, cargo, people and fluids. You must subtract the weight of the
truck from the GCWR to arrive at the tow capacity. I went to a truck
scale and my truck with gas and me in it weighed 4500 lbs. Subtract
that from 9200lbs.and my tow capacity is 4700lbs. My truck and trailer
combined weigh in at 8975 lbs. Acording to my 92 manual 9200lbs. is the
lowest capacity for a 5.2L motor. Hope this helps.
