It would seem that the Insurance Industry tests only sample one of each
vehicle. A
scientific testing methodology does not make conclusions based on a
single test. What if the dummy was defective, not securely fastened,
sensors were improperly placed, the vehicle used had a structural
defect,... Multiple tests are typically used to rule out such anomalies
- which was basically CC's response.

had(past tense) Dakota Sport with v6 and Auto that I missed a curve with
and landed in an 12 foot deep embankment . Completly destroyed the front
end, moved the bed forward 2 inches, blew out rear glass, steering
column dropped down, both doors jammed, would not open.. Air bag
deployed, had my seat belt on. I crawled out drivers window and walked
away from wreck with only minor bruises. I believe had I been in another
brand of small truck I would not be here.
Long Live Dogde !!!!
Even before I read Joe's comment I was going to respond to Jeff on Q1
with my supposition that a 4 was used. Granted, I don't know if that is
offered in the DAK.
But I agree with Jim A. This is one of the opening salvos in the PU and
SUV wars. Six months ago these same doofuses were saying that because
PU's and SUV's are higher than passenger cars the passenger cars were
experiencing increased damage and passengers in same more injuries. Last
night the doofus (sorry in advance if any one is related) stated that
passenger cars were safer!
On Q2, well stated.
One has to remember who butters these guys bread --- the insurance
companies. It's merely fodder to enable the insurance companies to raise
premiums. You can bank on it.
