Are you getting any engine fault codes? I know that I was having a similar
problem after having the computer disconnected for a while. Turn the key
on/off twice within a five second span. Count the flashes of the check
engine light. You should get a code 55, but if you get a code twelve (1
flash, pause, 2 flashes) then the memory standby power was lost. If the
computer looses power, after about 15 minutes, it will loose all the stored
settings. It has to relearn all the settings, causing it to shut down
randomly. It takes about 50 or so miles for it to relearn. If you have a
short, and the computer is loosing power when the truck is off, that could
cause your problem. If you get any other codes, let me know and I'll tell
you what they mean.
