I have a friend that has a V6 94 Dakota that does the same thing.
First time it did it he took it to the dealer and all they
did was clean the throttle body. It happens about ever 15,000
miles. Just dies when it idles for a few minutes, he gets out
his spray can of cleaner and it just as good as new.

I have a 95 V-8 and I have never had the problem. I kid him
that he doesn't ever open the throttle enough to let the airflow
clean it. He drives like an old man, very, very slow, and I am
an old man and drive like a bat out of hell.
