I depends on what the controller has stored in it. Most of the MP
controllers I have
used and played with come from MP with mileage value set to 0 so you
shouldn't see
the light for another 60,000 miles. The mileage is stored in
non-volatile memory so there
is no way (other than a diagnostic machine to reset it). If someone is
thinking about
reducing the mileage on a vehicle at sell time (or installing a new
odometer), remember the
engine controller does have a value stored in it. The mileage stored is
just there for the
maintenance lights and keeping people honest at sell time.
