Steve;
The more pull that it has the sooner the down shifts. Hold the TB in WOT, and
adjust The TV so it is pulling the valve all the way , as far as it will go, you
do this by pulling the cable towards the firewall. You need to get it to down
shift to passing gear at around 45 mph. You shouldn't have to go the other way
more than 1/16 " from all the way dead ( fully applied at WOT ).
Also on the TC lock up. I paid a little more attention to mine today and here is
what mine does. After it goes to 3rd gear it will then go into lockup ( right
after shifting unless I an getting in it pretty hard ), I will stay in lock up
even when pushing the peddle down almost to WOT and also when you take your foot
off of the peddle and coast for few seconds and then re apply the gas it will
still be
locked up. This is also true when in OD. Having it stay in lock up like this
really makes for nice feel and saves on the converter clutch. Also it should lower
the temps some. It doesn't stay locked up to long when slowing so as to put any
strain on any thing. You really don't even feel it lock up. the only way to tell
is look at the tach. or listen to the exhaust tone.
Hope this helps
