Even with 4wd I keep 200lbs. of sand in the back of my truck all winter.
4x50lb bags = $15-$20 maybe - Once they get wet they are even heavier.
Added benefit is you can use the sand for traction for yourself or others
if stuck. The weight kills the gas mileage a bit, but it is still cheaper
then
replacing a wrecked truck. Ya also have to take it a little easier on the
gas,
I've 360'd my Dak a few times when trying to zip around a corner too fast
on just wet pavement, that will really wake you up!

Ive only recently purchased my 1997 Dakota sport V6 2WD(all stock) no box
lids etc. and have heard they dont cope well in heavy rain and snow with
regard to traction.
Im told they are prone to skid off the road on corners due to lack of weight
and traction at the back.
Are there any suspension mods, tyre changes (Currently Michelin all season)
etc I can make to improve the traction? Told Weighing the back would surfice
but seems messy option to me!
