Alan,
The nice thing about the Carlsbad raceway is first come first serve uness
the contingency racers are going at it. There are some extreme vehicles
that show up too so you get to see some wild 8 and 9 second runs. Its every
weekend so you dont get big crowds (unless its the first cool day of the
season...) cost is 20$/race car/truck and 10.00 per person. Long pants,
shoes and helmet are all thats required to race (unless your in the mid 11s
or faster...)

We can all go to the Pomona street-legal drags. They open the track to
the public for the weekend about 5 times a year. I haven't been to one
in 2 years though. I remember my last outing, the Impala SS club was
there and there must have been 50 of them. The track officials made
everyone else wait while all them made their runs.

Well I would be interested if I can find a day off of
school and work. i live
over in Oxnard in Ventura County. I work at a local
Hotel, and might be able
to get a group discount if we can get enough people. I
dont know of a local
track that we could go to. In the past 2 months we have
had the Mustang Owners
Club, the Austin Healy Owners, and Ventura Vintage Rods
(my personal
favorite). We need to have a Dakota Owners Club. The
hotel I work at is right
in the Channel Islands Harbor. Its an old hotel, so its
not the best, but the
view is really what you pay for. There is also a Park
right next door, that we
could hold a show. Now if there was only a strip near
by, I will call up the
local "rice" store and see where they race.

                late,

                2me
