Hey Travis:
This is what I know, in 1995 Crysler Corp switched from the all to
expensive frame rail mounted in-line fuel filter to the in pump fuel filter.
The reason for this supposedly was because with today's fuels they no longer
require the filtration like the old school. So the filter is supposed to be
good for the life of the pump. This is what you should consider, where do
you live? What is the climate like? Where do you buy your fuel? What brand
of fuel are you running? Give me this info and maybe I can help you identify
your real problem. I wouldn't suspect your fuel filter, if your filter is
clogged there is a good chance your injectors are restricted as well. Hope
this helps...

My '97 CC 4x4 has 53k on it (Still w/original tires too...)

She won't start on the first turn anymore and it seems I've
lost a
little power. I figured I'd have the shop replace the fuel
filter
(usually I do it every 30k). Apparently the fuel filter is
in the fuel
tank, along with the pump. Is there a secondary that I can
replace (I
                can't find one :( ).

Is there something else I should do? I don't feel like
paying the
repair guy $200 to drop the fuel tank if I don't have to...

I've changed the plugs and usually run mid grade gasoline,
change the
                oil every 3k.
