Not to be critical, but it sound like your trying to reinvent the wheel.
I'm all for making some unusual and/or major modifications, but I think you
really need to look at how much time, money and work will be involved on
this conversion. What are you trying to achieve here? I'm also planning
some major redesign work on my truck, installing a straight axle and a crate
motor, but my goal is to build a show truck. If your doing this because you
want a V8 4x4, then your probably better off selling your motor and truck
and buying a V8 4x4.

Subject: DML: answers to my question

I wrote earlier that I was trying to put a 351 windsor in my dak. Here are
the answers to some of the questions that arose. It is running a high riser
intake manifold with dual holley carbs. I have a friend that works in a
machine shop, so the fabrication necessary will be done cheaply. I still
don't know waht transmission to use(although it will DEFINATELY be a
standard)because I don't know what would fit. Oh, by the way, are there any
4x4 conversion kits for a 2 wheel drive dakota?
