Leach user to work for DT - DT couldn't keep up with Mopar's demands, so
Leach and z couple of others from DT started making the headers exclusively
for Mopar. Tahat's my understanding.

Yep, DT made the older ones, but I think Leach is making all of
the new
ones. (I don't know wether Mopar Performance has completely
switched to
Leach or if they still use DT for the older pipes.)

they do
I believe both the DT's and Leach headers are chromed steel.

Yep, good points. It would definitely be worth the money to have
them
coated. (ceramic) You might even be able to get them from Leach
cheaper
if you get them without the chrome. (the coater has to strip the
chrome off anyway, so you pay to have it put on and pay to have it
stripped off). A coating will probably cost somewhere in the
neighborhood of $100-200. A ceramic coating makes especially good
sense when the pipes aren't stainless. (Which the MP ones are not.)
The coating will cause the headers to last longer, keep the engine
bay cooler, and also help to increase performance.
