I have used 10W30 100% synthetic in the summer and
5W30 100% synthetic in the winter in all my vehicles
since 1986.
I doubt that you'll visibly notice anything. I
feel that the synthetic oil doesn't break down as
much in excessive heat and helps keep wear down
with starts in cold temperatures. My '89 turbo 4
Caravan, which I gave to my son, was pushing 180,000 mi.
and is still not burning excessive oil.
Added cost for the synthetic may be a factor for some
but I run the vehicles beyond the recommended normal oil
and oil filter change.
All in all, running synth. has been a good experience
for me.
