Noisy speedometer

I have a 87 Dakota and have noticed that when it gets to
the colder months, my speedometer makes a vibrating
noise in the morning. Someone mentioned that I need to
have it lubed. Is this the case or should I buy another one
at a junk yard. If it does need to be lubed, is it something
an average Joe could do?
