RE: Oil Changes - [was Blackstone]

I agree with the 3K Mile Oil Change. However, if using Synthetic Oil (which
was NOT invented, nor developed in the U.S., but rather Germany during WW1)
you can safely run it up to 10K. I prefer Redline or Amsoil...it's a
Mobil-1 thing I guess.

As for those "Mechanic in a Can" or "Wonder Oils", i've tried several and
all of them didn't increase the gas mileage on any of the vehicles I tested
them on.

Motor-Up (Sucks....Cool lookin can though)
Slick50 (Give me a break...it doesn't even stick to metal treated with
Graphite...this was stated by the Slick50 Corporation)
ProLong (Nice idea...but nothing changed. Idle, temp, or mileage were all
the same)
DuraLube (So they have a race named after them...big deal. It still didn't
work.)

Now I may have irritated some of the "Wonder-Lube" followers, but if you
change your oil every 3K - 5K miles, run the correct rating for the weather
conditions (Don't run 20W-50 during a 20 degree winter or 10w-30 during the
100+ summer) you'll be just fine.
