While I do think the 'brick' factor is very high, you also have to consider
that the 5.9L is a TRUCK engine, and I'll bet that the competition's torque
peak is significantly higher... if your soul purpose is drag racing, you'll
be ahead to raise the torque peak, and redline of the engine...(not easy, or
cheap)
then you'll really see it pull on the far end... (remember trap speed is
almost directly related to HP) and you'll also have to do mods
(gear/high-stall converter) to get into that powerband quicker.

I also think that a vortech would compliment this nicely... :-)
they come on hard in the top end (where the magnum engines need help) but
don't add too much to the bottom end (where you will have traction problems)
