don't know what year you have.......i have an 88se ...and a 99rt My 88 has
the same problem.....i do a lot of short trips in this truck.Must be a
preasure build up in the rad.I tried differant thermostats with no luck .I
replaced three rads in the first 5 years of the truck,seems in my case the
top of the rad is clamped or crimped to the core,the seal at this piont
leaks when under preasure.The last 6 years i just tap these crimps down with
a hamer and a piece of hard ruber(don't over do it)
solves the problem for a while .The more these crimps flex back and forth
the weaker they get eventualy i'll have to get a new core.The joy of living
5 min from work .

The other thing is to have the rad preasure tested....they hook up a pump to
your fill hole and pumpit up.If you got a pin hole it should bee seem
