Alan,
I believe the reasoning is this. If you want your computer to re-learn more
quickly, you disco the battery. At this point there is no memory of your
driving habits in the computer. It starts from a pre-determined point in
the mapping. This is a more preferred condition to be in at the track. All
your test can be taken from a "controlled" starting point. If you do not
disco the battery, it is going to take a longer period of driving cycles for
the computer to adapt to the new mods.

I have a question about the above statement.
If the vehicle responds better to a modification after a few drive
cycles, why do some say they turn faster times after "burping" the
computer at the track? I don't know, either way seems the same to me.
Any thoughts? Alan S.
