Morning Bob,

Five Star Dealerships are supposed to earn this rating by going extra steps
to satisfy customers and provide top service through their dealership.
In some cases, this may be true, but certainly not in all.

In the case of Sterling Heights Dodge, the "gentleman" who owns the dealership
(and also Meadowbrook Dodge) apparently has so much money and a high
volume of business that he has forgotten that individual customers make up
is business success.

I have worked for or been closely associated with Chrysler Corporation for
35 years. In my personal experience, the majority of problems has not been
with engineering, assembly, or performance. It has always been and still is
the dealer network. I am sure there are several very good dealers in the
country,
but not near enough. Several should have lost their franchise long ago.
In several cases, the "almighty dollar" rules and real customer service and
common courtesy have gone away.

I doubt in your case or mine it will make any difference. Neither of us will
break the dealerships involved. Their emphasis is on high volume and high
dollar business. Real care for the individual customer has all but
disappeared.

It is discouraging that Daimler/Chrysler (and Ford & GM who suffer the same
flaws) has not (or will not) make a concentrated effort to change the attitude
and performance of their dealership network.

Better get off my soapbox now......
