Gas Mileage

Use the lowest octane gas you can get by with without having the engine
ping - hard to believe, but lower octane will actually get you better
mileage and let your truck start easier because the fuel is more volatile
and more likely to burn.

As for getting better mileage, that's tough with a 4x4. If you rarely go
off-road, you may consider smooth highway tires and lowering the truck -
both should significantly boost your MPG. If you do much highway travel at
higher speeds, a tonneau cover should also help, but it's too much of a
price to pay just to get better mileage (and keep your tailgate UP). Also,
keep the truck tuned up, drive consistently, and you may want to consider
synthetic oil.
