To make it easier...you could just put a WD-40 soaked rag in the Intake
manifold to catch the small flakes. Also, once you're done, just take a
Shop-Vac and suck up the rest of the shavings (that didn't get stuck to the
rag). The minute dust that's left over isn't enough to damage
anything. (This shouldn't be done though unless you've done it before or
feel comfortable with it.)
That's how we used to port the Rotary's (Intake and Exhaust ports) and
never had a problem. (And they're more susceptible to metal dust than the
4-Stroke engines...Yes...Rotary's, to those who didn't know or were
misinformed, are 2-Strokes.)
