Engine swap and attn:89 Shelbys!

Alright guys, I think I'm going to swap either a 318 or a 360 into
my 89. I've talked to a guy that'll do it if I supply the stuff.
I might buy this rusted out 74 Plymouth somethin with a 318 that
runs well. Then I'll have the engine, trans, radiator, and other goodies.
I'll buy the fuel lines, exhaust and all else I need. It should be fairly
cheap.
What do y'all think? Anyone have experience with older engines?
Can somebody tell me how to make it faster?
In Car Craft a while ago they had budget cars...and they put a 360
into a Duster or something...and they listed every penny they spent...and
it came out to 3400...with a lot of money spent on stuff I wouldn't.
        Any pointers?

To the Shelbys:
I need to know about the engine mounts...are they exactly the same
as in my truck? I estimated and think the engine needs to sit further
forward than my 3.9. So, any of you know how the engine is mounted
differently? Please e-mail me privately if you can help me.

                                THANK YOU
