I put the Leach ceramic-coated headers on my CC 318 and
cut 1.5-2.0 sec. off my e.t. At the same time, I lost
a little torque at the bottom end but gained some at
the mid-to-upper end on the streets, and got better
throttle response.

If 1/4-mi. times are important to you and cost is not a big
issue, then headers are the way to go. If street performance is
the priority, I'd suggest sticking with the stock exhaust manifolds
and the stock pipes (they're both pretty efficient), replace
the stock muffler with a freer-flowing muffler and get
an exhaust shop to customize a replacement for the stock Y-pipe
(both are pretty restrictive).
