The optional limited slip differential is a real LSD. You're being led
astray by your buddies and even if it weren't, that brake/throttle
thing is a bunch of hooey. All factory limited slips allow a certain
amount of differential action. Once it passes a preset amount, it
limits the difference between axles. Some heavy duty aftermarket units
start out locked and then allow some slippage or ratcheting in
corners. For all out racing there are units that are locked all the
time.
The "lockers" offer no traction advantage over the stocker. However,
the stocker's ability to "lock-up" degrades over time depending on
the severity of usage.
*IF* you wear out the stocker(I never have) *THEN* consider an
upgrade.
