Look, I'm not saying knock is a good thing. The question was asked if knock
was ever good... and the answer is yes. Is it a real world possibility?
Not quite... not yet anyway. Do i know how a vacuum advance works? Yes. Do
I know why? Yes. Does it prevent knock? Yes. Am I ignorant? No. I'm not
promoting knock. I'm just stating that knock is BAD at low speed and high
load (like revving from a stop light or a drag race). This is when engine
knock breaks engines. I'm not saying its good otherwise, but its not going
to harm your motor half as much as in the above mentioned condition.
