I definitely believe that you could have taken a Z28, especially if it was
an auto or the guy can't drive a 5 spd. I myself raced one on the streets
and took him up to about 70mph. An R/T or 4.7L 5 spd with minor mods could
easily run with a Z28 and beat it!! I've also raced a formula firebird and
kept up till about 60mph from a dead stop.

Not to bring up old stuff, I just wanted to back Bill Bozeman up on this
one. He beat that SS. Saw the timeslip myself. I ran very strong in my R/T
against an LT1 before. He ran a 15.4, and I ran a 15.6. His 2.5 60' really
hindered him. He did not catch me until the very end.
