I don't know that I would pull for 18 hours straight. I don't know if it
would hurt the truck, but I would personally give it a rest about half way
through. I would NOT go into 5th gear. It's never a good idea to go into
5th when towing although I have talked to many people that claim that it
doesn't hurt anything. Personally, I wouldn't.
