Well, when my truck was up on the hoist getting the oil drained i took a
good look at my plastic skid plates and the several gouges that were already
in them. I was not impressed. ure the plastic is pretty strong, FOR
PLASTIC. I don't care about rust cause i could always paint or powder coat
the plates, and do small touch-ups. I've had my truck for les than 2 months
and only been off-road 3 times, in mud with small rocks mixed in. I didn't
do anything that would have taken out as many chunks out of a steel plate as
were taken from the plastic ones.
I'll get 1/4" steel/aluminum whatever is cheap and have no worries.
