well first off congrats, sounds like a nice truck. as for the shifting are
you referring to the actual throw of teh shifter itself, yes I feel this on
my 2000 cc 5-speed. I also have a hard time shifting smooth on the 1-2
shift. It seems that the 4.7 does not drop off the rpms as quick a normal
motor. so if you shift even slightly quick it will not be overly
smooth. This is my first 5-speed, and at almost 7000 miles i still have a
hard time starting in first smooth then shifting into 2nd smooth. I start
in 2nd 95% of the time though, unless i am blowing in some doors... in
which case who wants to shift smooth, i want to chirp into 2nd and third....
>To me the 1-2, 2-1, and sometimes the 2-3

I have done this many times, once yesterday and I also went to launch in
first yesterday but i was already in neutral so it was quite a launch....
first is tough but if you use it enough you will get used to it..
