The OTC scanner that I use can do the following resets:

Set Synchronization Mode: This is used to reset the timing to zero degrees.

Reset Idle Air Control: This resets the IAC adjustment to factory default
setting. The PCM will readjust the IAC to the
optimum setting. Use this test when the IAC motor
                         has been replaced or disconnected.

Reset Adaptive Fuel: This resets the adaptive fuel adjustment to factory
default settings. PCM will readjust the adaptive
fuel to optimum setting. Use this option anytime
a component that affects the fuel system is replaced.
Especially important to do this reset to be sure
the O2 sensor is in the proper range.

Reset Minimum TPS: This resets the TPS adjustment to factory default setting.
PCM will readjust the TPS to optimum setting. Perform
after the MIN AIR IDLE option is used or when the IAC is
adjusted or when the TPS has been replaced.

Other high end scanners (e.g. SunPro) may have more/different capabilities.

I'll be at the Mopar Nats next weekend and have the software for up to and
including the '98 Chrysler models. I gather from recent posts that your
truck won't be ready until Sept. though.

Bob
