Oops...lemme correct my "typo". IAS (aka: AIS) Idle Air Solenoid not IAT
(Intake Air Temp)...My Bad.

The IAS is located on the rear of the throttle body (big black/brass thingy)
and it had a plunger that moves back and forth in a machined port. This
port eventually gets clogged with carbon deposits causing the idle quality
to deteriorate and also causes hesitations on initial acceleration. All you
need to do to clean it is remove the connector and two Torx-25 screws.
Slide it out and spray some carb/tb cleaner in the port (wipe with a small
rag) and also clean the plunger with carb/tb cleaner and a rag. (Make sure
NOT to twist the plunger...just wipe it clean.)

The MAP sensor (Manifold Absolute Pressure) is located on the front of the
throttle body (Black rectangular thingy) and you don't have to clean that.

For a thorough cleaning, remove the TB and remove all the sensors. Spray
the TB Cleaner in all the ports/passages and blow them out with some
compressed air. (I've only done this twice within 46K miles)

Spraying the cleaner down the throttle body bores is a good "cleaning"
practice but doesn't clean the parts that really need it.

Hi Bernd

Couple of questions for you here. What is the IAT port you are referring to
below and also where & what is the MAP sensor? To clean the throttle body,
how do you do this, remove air hat, start engine and spray down throttle
body until things look clean? Can this spray get into the fuel injectors if
just air goes down the throttle body? What is your opinion on those bottles
of fuel injector cleaner you add to your gas tank every now and then?

Thanks in advance for your response
Jay

Your feedback on this subject would also be appreciated Ron.
